Preschool Program
The preschool (K3 & K4) at Thomas Jefferson Academy makes every effort to create a positive and exciting learning environment for our students. We offer a K3 program for full day. The K3 program introduces children to a world of learning through letters, numbers, shapes and colors. K4 students focus on academic, social, and motor skills to prepare them for kindergarten. Houghton Mifflin reading curriculum is used in K4 with a cross curriculum in social studies, math and D’nealian handwriting. All of our preschool students begin the day with prayer and devotion to instill a foundation of faith and provide a safe, Christian environment. They also participate daily in physical education which provides physical exercise, an important part in the development of a healthy lifestyle. In addition to P.E. they also have art, music and STEAM (science, technology, engineering and math) class once a week. We pride ourselves in providing a family like atmosphere for our students through small classroom settings. It is our goal that our students use the strong foundation of learning to build upon their future educational experience.
